Jim Simon is managing editor of The Seattle Times. He has worked as an editor and reporter at the Times for most of his career, including stints covering the environment, politics and as a staff writer for the Times' Sunday magazine. As an editor, he helped oversee the team that won the 2015 and 2010 Pulitzer Prizes for breaking news. He’s led the development of recent major projects such as Education Lab, an ambitious solutions journalism initiative which combines in-depth reporting and community engagement to explore urgent issues in education, and an award-winning, multi-media series on the impact of ocean acidification around the Pacific.
